The original muffler rusted out.  I put on a replacement Dynomax 17777 Sport 180 super turbo muffler.  Its not the quietest - but the turned tip somehow reduced the low rumble quite a bit.    Cut brackets off of old one - used two hose clamps to secure clamps to new one.  The shield has not been made to fit again ( who would touch a hot muffler anyway ? ) If you have leaks - a great product to use is Chamber Seal - its like a high temp rubber band that sticks to itself.  ( its on the inlet side of the muffler)
